No one literally ever told that life and friendship are supposed to be this way until one of the most iconic American sitcoms "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" first aired in the year 1994. And ended with grand success in the year 2004 after releasing it's 10 unforgettable seasons. Though the show ended yet it's immortal in everyone's heart who's ever watched it. Even after 16 years of its end, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. has paved its way through zoomer's heart as well. It has a great fan base among youth and elderly people also consider this show as an Iconic one.

We can never imagine anyone else replacing the iconic caste of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Each one of them suited the role like no other. But there is a folded story behind the casting of  F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

The character of Rachel Green a fashion freak and beautiful person, was supposed to be played by Courtney Cox but later the role paved its way to Jennifer Aniston and she brought the character into life with her skills and charm which best suited the role. Courtney Cox went psychic when Ross and Rachel's relationship took the center stage in the show but her disappointment didn't last long as she was offered the role of Monica Geller in the same show, the character earned a lot of love and appreciation from dying heart audience and She justified the role in every possible way. Monica and Courtney shared a similarity, Courtney is a neat freak both on-screen and off-screen. She playing Monica Geller was destined.

Matthew Perry, he was such a great Chandler. And it turns out, Perry didn't really have to act it much as because his character in F.R.I.E.N.D.S is pretty similar to his real-life character, "If there is an awkward pause at all in a conversation I try to fill it as fast as I can with a joke" stated Perry. Like Chandler, Perry's parents also got divorced when he was a child. Perry in an interview once admitted that both Chandler and He were in love with Monica aka Courtney Cox.

Lisa Kudrow played Phoebe Buffay in the show, her character was the most unique of all and received a lot of love from her viewers. She had a different point of reference for almost everything.

She hated her role in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. She played her twin sister Ursula's role as well, or so to say her "evil sister Ursula". And Lisa didn't really appreciate that version of the character she played. Ursula Buffay's character originated from another Sitcom called Mad about you that featured Lisa as a slow waited for waitress Ursula. The audience liked her and so the makers decided to make her cross over on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It was quite challenging for her to play both contrasting characters on the same show, apart from these challenges she loved playing Phoebe.

Matt Leblanc, like everyone else he too enjoyed playing his character. Apart from a few advertisements, Matt wasn't featured in any of the famed shows. Unlike other actors, Matt was still a struggling actor while he was featured in the show and his character Joey Tribiani was also a struggling actor. It seemed like his character was based on his life itself. His character in the show earned a lot of fame and name, he totally justified his character with his acting and some personal touch from his experience as a struggling actor. It later came to news that Matt bought himself a hot meal from his first paycheck earned by playing Joey Tribiani. Joey happened to be a kick start role for Matt's acting career.

Ross and Rachel happened to be the most iconic sitcom couple ever, and "being on a break" was a crucial part of their relationship, they were never meant to be drifted apart and they never really broke up, the makers wanted to give a reason to the viewers to stick with the show hence they had to make it tangled a bit. Apart from everything they finally came together at the end, but David Schwimmer who played Ross wanted his character to end up with someone apart from Rachel. But he was soon at adding that he didn't mind them getting back together and getting married eventually.

No one can disagree with the fact that David was great as Ross Geller and his character were actually written keeping him in mind by the makers. There was a point where David almost denied doing this sitcom but finding no one better the makers approached him back and he finally agreed on doing F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 

It's strange how a hypothetical role changes the life of one's performing it, and this show has indeed changed the lives of those actors and viewers and our concept of "friends".It teaches us that one can always have more than one best friend, that friends never judge one another, that no matter how bad things are, being friends means to stand beside them in need. These six characters raised the standard of what friendship means.
