Laxmii: Sharad Kelkar Steals The Shows | Disgrace To It's Original Version!
Laxmi happened to be a disgrace to its original Tamil version. It did not do any justice to the script, though storytelling was executed in an appreciative manner, it did not cause any harm to its real plot.
Kanchana's remake Laxmii, a Hindi horror comedy movie starring Akshay Kumar, Kiara Adwani, and Sharad Kelkar was released on 9th, November 2020. It happened to be a disgrace to its original Tamil version. It did not do any justice to the script, though storytelling was executed appreciatively, it did not cause any harm to its real plot.
Akshay Kumar's efforts to justify the character of Laxmi/ trans were visible on-screen and also was appreciated until the second half when Sharad Kelkar, the real Laxmi came up to screen and overtook Akshay with his mature performance and no hype at all. Whereas on the other hand, Akshay Kumar's performance was super hype and almost deteriorated the character of trans on screen. Apart from its hand-picked bunch of amazing actors with Akshay and Kiara Adwani in it, Sharad Kelkar paved his way through the audience's heart with his eye drooling performance and on-point acting skills.

Disney+ Hotstar has announced that Laxmi broke the viewership records of Dill Bechara ft Lt. Sushant Singh Rajput, this fact is not a matter of shock as the movie ft. Bollywood's extremely famed actor AK whose name in the film is enough to attract viewers.
The movie has received 2.2/10 ratings on IMBd and is the top tagged with illogical, silly, over-hyped, boring, bad acting, unrealistic, etc.

Above all of its demerits, Laxmi was somewhere able to hit the chords of injustice happening to trans in the same society where we live, the plot empowers minds to stand against those social evils happening to trans and LGBT. Its strong message was again beared down by a loop hole in the script, the movie is supposed to focus on the fact that "equality is not based on sexuality" one's respect shouldn't be abided by gender whereas AK as Asif in the film says that if the irrational talks about the existence of Ghosts are true "Maa Kasam chudiya pehen Lunga" which showcases Bangles as a symbol of feminine weakness". This brings out the hypocritic nature of makers and actor himself.
Apart from all, the movie has received love and appreciation from the LGBT and trans specifically. In this era where humans are trying to normalize LGBT and coop-up with it, the actor and makers took over the topic to make a film and inserted the sense of awareness among us regarding the issues faced by trans, and that being a good human one should stand by their side.
