Swachh Survekshan 2020 Results: Indore Is India's Cleanest City

Indore has once again been declared the cleanest city in India at the Swachh Survekshan Awards, Hindustan Times reported. This is the fourth time in a row that Indore has been awarded the cleanest city in the nation.

Swachh Survekshan 2020 Results: Indore Is India's Cleanest City

 The Government's Swachh Survekshan Awards 2020 were announced by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Indore has becomes the inspiration for the whole country by bagging the prestigious Swachh Sarvekshan award for the fourth time in a row, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar said.

Indore is the most populous and the largest city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as the headquarters of both Indore District and Indore Division. It is also considered as an education hub of the state and has campuses of both the Indian Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Management.

The government today announced the results of annual survey of cleanliness, Swachh Survekshan 2020. Indore once again bagged the top spot as the cleanest city of India, fourth time in a row. The second and third positions in the category were grabbed by Surat and Navi Mumbai respectively.

The Swachh Survekshan awards 2020 were announced by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri at a ceremony.

India’s cleanest cities 2020: Top 10 cleanest cities

The 10 cities which emerged as the country’s best top 10 cities in the Swachh Survekshan survey undertaken this year are:

  1. Indore
  2. Surat
  3. Navi Mumbai
  4. Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh)
  5. Mysore (Karnataka)
  6. Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh)
  7. Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
  8. New Delhi (NDMC)
  9. Chandrapur (Maharashtra)
  10. Khargone (Madhya Pradesh)
