Dean Mervyn Jones (former Australian Batsman) has achieved name-fame and worked harder to maintain his legacy till the last moment of his life. Jones was doing perfectly fine and suddenly the worst happened. Jones was in Mumbai for doing commentary in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Dean's commentary has the role of many cricketers' landmark achievements.

Dean was a versatile batsman and his runs between the wickets was like icing on the cake.He loves to play any role, his batting, bowling and the fielding has always been a plus for the team.
Dean played his last international match in 1994, Test and ODI in 1984. The achievement of Jones’ life :-
- Dean played 152 Tests and total score was 3631 runs which includes 11 centuries.
- Dean was featured in 164, One-day matches, with the record of 6063 runs which includes 46 fifties and 7 centuries.

He had the guts to play the match with all the dedication, and even ended up in hospital on a saline drip (Madras 1986-87).
It was a great memory for Indian fan’s, where he made 210 runs ( the highest run by an Australian Cricketer in India) and vomited on the field, but played damn well.

On Thursday, after having breakfast around 11am, Jones attended a briefing with the broadcasting commentary team of IPL (2020). Suddenly, he collapsed on the floor, and left everybody in shock for the moment, and he was rushed to Harkisandas Hospital in the city. Later the hospital authorities confirmed the cardiac arrest and his death.

Star India said in a statement that "It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest. We express our deep condolences to his family and stand ready to support them in this difficult time. We are in touch with the Australian High Commission to make the necessary arrangements," .
"He was a champion commentator whose presence and presentation of the game always brought joy to millions of fans. He will be sorely missed by everyone at Star and his millions of fans across the globe."

"What a great player and a great bloke. We are shocked and very sad to hear of his passing," said Justin Langer, head coach of the men's cricket team. "Deano was a true legend of Australian sport and world cricket, one of the great players and personalities in a golden time for the game. His role in the team’s World Cup win in 1987 and the 1989 Ashes under AB were a huge turning point for Australian cricket," Langer added.
Dean Mervyn Jones, People always remember him as a happy face, he always had a smile on his face. His commentary skills bring joy and calm to the listeners. An energetic soul, all-rounder in the ground, and set a bar for the new generation cricketers. A sad day for cricket history left us speechless for the sudden cardiac arrest of Dean Jones.
