Minimalistic And Simple Living- Architect Designs a 1 BHK Home in a Autorickshaw

Tiny houses movement is on rise. It is very common in countries like New Zealand, Australia for people to opt for tiny houses more than the conventional houses. The obessession of minimalistic and simple living has been increasing in recent years. From low cost maintenance to enerygy efficiency tiny house has lots of benifits.

Seems like India is also getting introduced to tiny houses now. An architect, Arun Prabhu N. G  also a founder of The BILLBOARDS Collective, designs a 1BHK tiny house in an autorickshaw. Yeah you read that right, AN AUTORICKSHAW! Unlike the very common trailer mount tiny houses, this home is brillantly designed on autorickshaw keeping in mind the cost of building it.

The SOLO:01, thats what Arun calls it, is fully equiped with all the basic necessities with kitchen, washrom, toilet, bedroom, living space, even a bathtub. Solar panels installed and 250 liter water tank meaning this house can be off grid without much of a problem.  

SOLO:01 is not currently for sale but it took the architect 10 months and costing of INR 1 lakh to get this architecture marvel fully functioning. He further said Yahoo India: “We are in the middle of designing further modules which would be more space and energy-efficient than the first. We have also applied for the design registration and it's in the process.”
